Corina Renee Beauty

It is an absolute pleasure to introduce on the blog today the beautiful Corina from @corinarenee_beauty and her gorgeous puppers Honey & Gypsy.

Let's dive straight in. Can you tell us a little about yourself and what lead you to pursuing health & beauty as a business? I've always been drawn to all things of beauty, whether in visual Art, nature, or personal grooming. I studied massage therapy straight out of high school & my first paying job was well- paid & for a high end clientele. Looking back, this was a lucky start as this gave me confidence in my field & also set me up for having a great C.V from a young age. At a young age I was also surrounded by highly successful business owners that inspired me.

Now it's Honey & Gypsy's turn. What type of Breed is Honey/Gyspy? How old are they and what are some unique personality traits they have?Honey is a rescue pooch & from what we believe she is a mix of staffie & also some dingo. Gypsy Is a pure breed Chihuaua. Honey is highly empathetic, protective, overly affectionate & really just wants to be involved in all things her humans partake in. Gypsy is eccentric, quirky & really fun!

Does Honey & Gyspy have a story behind their name? My partner named honey for her colour being honey like. Not too original, still super cute. Gypsy was inspired by my family heritage which is Eastern European & apparently some Roman gypsy in there too.

What are some of your favourite things to do together? We go to the lead -free part of the beach at cabarita which we love, play ball in the yard, just hanging out daily is enjoyable.

Running a business is hard work! What life lessons has the journey of starting and growing a business taught you?Business has taught me to step out of my comfort zone, strengthened my practice in mind-set work & really confronted me with challenging any out-dated & limiting beliefs. Judgement has been a factor, as in, I have had to tame self-criticism, which Is an on-going challenge.

If you could go back to when were you first thinking about the idea of starting your own business what advice would you give yourself? My advice would be to relax more & listen to my intuition.

What is one of the best things and also one of the hardest things about running your own business? The best thing is a sense of achievement & freedom. I also love that I am continually pushed to gain knowledge in my field. Drawing on resources & time management are stressful and being more of a creative I struggle with the practical aspects of business too.

If you could only pick 3 beauty products to use for the rest of your life...what would they be and why? Aromatherapy oils as they heal all skin conditions, natural exfollient, as gently resurfacing the skin improves the skins texture. My gua sha massage tool. Massage is one of the best things we can do for our face!

We go through so many ups and downs in life..not to mention through the journey of growing a business. Has Honey & Gypsy had a positive effect on your life? In particular the emotional aspect. If so can you give an example? Honey & gyspy are my pure bliss. They ground, bring joy & comfort. The are the ultimate teachers. When I feel upset or stressed honey actually comes right up to my face & nudges me, as if to say ok, snap out of it. She lets me know she is there & is highly empathetic. It is beautiful. I put myself in their shoes (paws) and try to feel into how they perceive life & it gives joy meeting their needs. I am always curious about what makes them tick. We are deeply bonded & I am so thankful for them.

What would be the first piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to improve their health and wellbeing ? where do they start? Face & body treatments are very grounding for me. The aromas & textures are a lush experience.Clients always say they are too rushed in life to bother, which is reason alone they should be performing self care. Face & body care brings you back into the moment. Having a self care ritual such as bathing with salts & oils or masking the face, is deeply nourishing. It is literally taking time to 'smell the roses', which enhances your life on so many levels.

Big thank you to Corina, Honey & Gypsy for inspiring us today and for taking such care with your thoughtful answers. I can definitely relate to many things you feel about the challenges of running a business and I would also like to up my self care routine. So many people view Face & body treatments as a "luxury" they don't have "time for" but like you said it can really be a time to honour yourself and be present in the moment. I loved your view on that. Corina as you can understand by reading about her puppers above is an adoring Furmamma and she is currently helping me (Catherine Mary Designs) with the organisation of our 2019 charity calendar and is also donating some of her gorgeous products to help promote the calendar.
